Belvidere, July 30, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Terra Tech Corp (TRTC) is pleased to announce they have signed a contract with FoodLink, the agricultural industry's premier supply chain software provider. For more than 12 years, FoodLink has been connecting and improving the fresh food supply chain from the farm to the consumer. Their award-winning solutions are used by more than 2,000 farmers, grower-shippers, brokers, carriers, retail grocers and wholesalers. Fresh is their guiding principle, and their software helps its customers bring safe, fresh food to market in the most efficient and profitable way.
"Our primary focus for the next several months is to capture revenue as well as market share," said Ken Vande Vrede, COO of Terra Tech. "In addition, we are making certain we begin the process of implementing technologies like FoodLink that position us for longer term profitability as well as shareholder value."
FoodLink's proprietary software links cultivators of produce with buyers throughout the country. In addition it allows for full traceability from farm to table. Consumers will be able to scan a code on Edible Garden's packaging and see which local farmer cultivated that particular plant. Edible Garden's implementation of the software allows them to work efficiently with major retailers throughout the country that utilize FoodLink, potentially opening the door to other retail relationships.
Edible Garden, a premier brand of local and sustainably grown hydroponic produce, is available at close to 400 major grocery stores such as Shoprite, Food Emporium and others throughout New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
